Destination: Buenos Aires
About this photo: A trip to Buenos Aries is not complete until one sees a Tango show. We saw La Ventana which was quite a long production.
Best deal found: The subway system of Buenos Aires is efficient and cheap.

Destination: Oahu, HI
About this photo:
The Byodoin temple in Oahu is an exact replica of the identically named temple in Uji, Japan…but with a fresher coat of paint and a more picturesque setting. I recommend going early in the morning, when the sunlight is hitting the temple and there aren’t too many people around. It is incredibly serene.
Best deal found: $3 admission to the temple.

Destination: Macau
About this photo: This is ruined facade of the St.Paul’s cathedral in downtown Macau (Special Administrative Region of China). The church burnt down in 1835. Because Macau was under Portuguese control for so long, parts of downtown, such Leal Senado square, look quite European. Just imagine European architecture surrounded by Cantonese culture and people. Strange from historical and political perspective, but also pretty cool and unusual for tourists today.
Best deal found: Eat on the streets. It’s much cheaper than your western meals at the hotel. Fish balls, fruit juices… everything made fresh right in front of you. Be adventurous!

Destination: California Coast
About this photo:
This is one of the bridges on the Pacific Coast Highway, heading north from San Francisco. We were on our way to wine country. This drive is spectacular – everyone needs to take this drive at least once in their lives!
Best deal found:
Hearst Castle was an awesome stop along the highway. The fee to tour the home was not as bad as we expected. Another great stop along the way…

Destination: Maui
About this photo: In 2002 we took a trip to Maui, and we did not want to come home, it was so beautiful. We took the road to Hana which was awesome.
Best deal found: We bought a watermelon! And yes it is true we paid twenty four dollars for it! We could not find a good bargain anywhere! Except the motel in Hialia, for $448  a week!

Destination: Garden of the Gods
About this photo: We were hiking around Garden of the Gods and I got a glimpse of the reflection of the rock formations in her sunglasses. The rest is history.
Best deal found: Buy one get one free lift tickets after purchasing $10 of gas at a Shell station. That saved $92 per day per coupon.

Destination: Cape Town South Africa
About this photo: This is taken at the top of Table Mountain of Cape Town Harbor. You can see Robbin Island in the background where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated. South Africa has wonderful opportunities to see Africa’s Big Five. Namely the Elephant, Rhino, Cape Buffalo, Lion and Cheater. The Cape area has a wonderful opportunity to visit and taste some of the best wines in the world. I would have loved to put up more pics.
Best deal found: Spur, a chain of restaurants where on Monday nights you buy one burger and get one free. You can choose from a regular burger, fried chicken burger, grilled chicken burger and a rib burger. It comes with a big portion of french fries and fried onion rings. You can take your own bottle of wine which perhaps you found on one of the many wine farms that day in the region and they do not charge you corkage. The bill for a family of 4 at the exchange rate in March 2010 was $11.86 that included the tip.

Destination: Pigeon Forge, TN
About this photo:
I took this picture which shows a late winter dusting of snow on Mt. LeConte, third highest peak in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, from the deck of our cabin. The GSMNP is the only FREE national park in the nation! We have visited the area for many, many years and finally bought our own cabin which we now rent to others thru VRBO.com. (Just saw a commercial where Clark was recommending VRBO as a way to save money on vacation).
Best deal found: Although there are tons of things to do in the Pigeon Forge area, the best deal is the park itself. No admission fee and it offers breathtaking vistas, a variety of hiking trails ranging from easy to strenuous, restored homes and churches with their related history and an opportunity to see wildlife in their natural habitats. How can it get any better than to be gorgeous and free!
