Save on Hotels
Pruvo is free to use and searches for better hotel deals! Any hotel confirmation you make that has a free cancellation policy can be forwarded to [email protected] Once Pruvo gets your email, then they go to work tracking our reservation. When Pruvo finds a lower rate on the same type of room with the same amenities, they’ll shoot you an email back. The email contains a link to Pruvo’s rebooking wizard, which lets you easily book the new lower rate they’ve found and cancel your existing reservation. That part is left up to you to complete. Since the rebooking wizard directs you to well-known third-party sites to book lower rates, there’s no need to share any of your credit card info with Pruvo.
Pruvo keeps working to find you a lower rate even after the first price cut.
Pruvo makes its money as an affiliate partner of major travel sites. When you re-book on a third-party site like,, Expedia or Orbitz, among others, Pruvo earns a commission for bringing them customers.
Know that there is no service that will save you money with each and every booking. Price drops occur about 4 in 10 times.
It’s not the only game in town to help you lower the cost of a hotel stay. Check out another free service – tripBAM.
Book directly through tripBAM or submit an existing reservation. Either way, tripBAM will also continually re-shop your rate. If a better deal pops up on your same room, they’ll email you to let you book the new and cheaper reservation. You keep the difference in savings.
Meanwhile, there are Chrome extensions that you can download to your browser to automatically track new reservations after you book them. For example, the TripAdvisor Chrome Extension provides for fast access to reviews, and prices on any hotel, restaurant or attraction website. Save money with real-time hotel price tracking – notifying you of any price changes on your selected hotels.
Another is Gopher which automatically beats the hotel deals found on major travel sites and sends you to the official hotel site to book.

Catch an Outdoor Flick
See a Shakespeare play, family show or hit musical under summer skies in the center of London’s Royal Park. The series runs through September 15. Ticket prices from £16.50.
There are many other cities around the world that have outdoor theaters this summer.
The Montjuïc Castle in Barcelona screens films on an exterior wall. Single show tickets are €6 ($7) in advance, €6.50 ($7.50) at the door.
New York City’s Bryant Park has had a longstanding series of free summer movie showings.
Throughout the hot summer nights, Italy lays on outdoor cinema in truly spectacular locations. In Rome on the Tiber through September 2, take in a nightly film, talk, concert or other event – all part of the Isola di Roma Festival. Visit Rome’s only island, Isola Tiberina, to catch a mix of old, new, Italian and foreign films accompanied by the soundtrack of the rushing river. Follow the river north and you’ll come to the Molo Film Festival, which will be showing a short film followed by a feature – all for free – on the banks of the Tiber every night from August 5-31. Look for the screen by Ponte Milvio bridge.
Other open-air screenings in Rome, free through September 8 at three different locations: a school courtyard in central Trastevere, the Casale della Cervelletta park in the east, and by the sea at the port of Ostia.
In the Villa Borghese through September 5, the Casa del Cinema shows movies outdoors for free.
A curated selection of films are shown every Wednesday through August 1 at Cinema Giardino in the pretty gardens by the Farnesina, Italy’s Foreign Ministry.
For a view as good as the show, book a ticket at Cinema Bianchini on the roof of Milan’s Galleria Vittorio Emanuele shopping arcade. Showing a selection of classics through September 30, the intimate cinema is split across two terraces with panoramic views over the Duomo and the glass dome of the arcade itself. Spectators are provided with benches, blankets and dessert.
Also in Milan’s city center are outdoor screenings at the Royal Palace, a converted convent and a church cloister through September 12.
Through August 11, the Uffizi Galleries in Florence opens its courtyard to free screenings of films old and new from around the world. Look out for Hitchcock thrillers, jazz documentaries, South Korean dramas, classics of Italian neorealism and more. All showings are free, but places are limited.
