Destination: Sedona, Arizona
About this photo: I traveled to Scottsdale for the very first time a few weeks back. It was first visit out west. The hotel where we stayed suggested we take a ride up to Sedona AND this is what was waiting. The Cathedral of the Holy Cross sits high up in the Red Rock Mountains on Sedona. It was an amazing site. We drove up to it and toured it. It was a new perfect experience that I will NEVER forget.
Best deal found: Marriott McDowell Mountain AAA rate of $118 per night with no resort fee. All of the rooms are suites.

Destination: Athens, Greece
About this photo: March 25 is both a national (revolution against the Turks) and religious holiday (Annunciation). On this day, there is a school flag parade in every town and village and a big armed forces parade in Athens, the capitol. This picture is of the Palace Guard soldiers in marching formation.
Best deal found: Walking around the Plaka (the picturesque, historic neighborhood in Athens) allows one to see historic ruins for free, and talk with shop owners who know Greek history as it relates to their wares.

Destination: Yellowstone National Park
About this photo: This hot body of water is called Black Pool. It is located in Yellowstone National Park’s West Thumb Geyser Basin. The name may fool you, but at one time this pool used to be black because the temperature was optimal for a certain cyanobacteria. In 1991, the pool warmed and killed the bacteria, and the result is this beautiful teal blue geyser.
Best deal found: We stayed in the City Inn Motel at the West Entrance. It was not upscale at all but it was clean, had excellent customer service, and served its purpose. We booked 3 months in advance (by phone b/c they do not have booking online), and got a two bedroom, three bed, one bath for $74 a night!!! (Not per room: total!) We also flew to Boise from Atlanta, rented a car with unlimited mileage (we needed a rental anyway for the whole trip), drove 7 hours across Idaho to save $200 a ticket (4 people) if we flew directly to Billings, Montana…That saved us over $500. That includes the cost of gas from Boise to Yellowstone and back!

Destination: Scotland
About this photo:
This photo was taken in the Scotland Highlands on 5/11/09. My wife and I traveled to London, Ireland and Scotland and we were most impressed with Scotland. The highlands where this picture was taken is some of the most beautiful landscape in the world. The people were extremely polite and went out of their way to help. I recommend Scotland to anyone interested in traveling to the UK.
Best deal found:
Scotland was much cheaper than the rest of the UK. Ryan Air was cheap and it was not to bad of a flight either. Great way to get around Europe. British Airways – RT tickets direct from Atlanta to Heathrow – plus BA paid for 2 nights in a decent hotel while we were in London for $700/pp.
