Spoiler alert: Porsche is pronounced Por-schuh as two syllables. Not one syllable as most Americans say it!

In fact, the German automaker even created this video to help English speakers get the name right.

Another surprising pronunciation? BMW.

The ‘W’ sound changes into a ‘V’ in the hands of a native German speaker! Written phonetically, it’s pronounced like this: B-M-V.
