What you need to know about the AT&T outage
Twitter began blowing up on Wednesday with reports of an outage that vexed customers, and the complaints carried over to the following day.

For all of us who pay you to have service, we demand 100% service throughout the month, our billing cycle… come the end of the month, you want our bill owed no ands ifs or buts…. it’s very hard to get credit back due to missed calls/ business meetings or whatever. FIX IT

Over and over but when the bill is due they want that or else.. and they can’t give us a solution to this important issue. I could be getting mugged or need to call 911 and my phone will be jacked out and not working.. but the bill is paid. #unacceptable

One AT&T customer even reported experiencing a complete network switcheroo during the unexplained outage.
Ok so who can help? I have AT&T but my voicemail goes to Verizon Wireless for some reason. Never had Verizon!

Here’s the latest outage map, pulled on the morning of November 16, courtesy of DownDetector.com:
AT&T’s response
The wireless carrier was quick to fess up to the widespread network problem and offer a fix:
If you’ve experienced an issue when making wireless calls, please restart your device, this might be required multiple times- that should resolve the issue.

However, some Twitter users are claiming that doesn’t work.

Meanwhile, others stepped in to offer their own bootleg remedies.
Are you an @ATT wireless customer unable to make calls in Houston? https://t.co/EhL8Xne0Go Going into airplane mode, then turning that off fixed it for me.

When we reached out to AT&T for comment, they had no further details or suggestions to offer beyond trying the manual fix.
If we hear back further from them, we’ll update you right here on Clark.com!
