Are you looking to watch golf by streaming the PGA Tour instead of paying for cable each month?

Good news! It’s entirely possible to accomplish this in 2022 without paying the cable or satellite company a dime.

In this article, I’ll walk you through all the ways that you can cut the cord and remain as big a golf fan as ever.

Table of Contents

How To Stream the PGA TOUR

Though golf is a global game with several different tours competing year-round, most of the world’s top players congregate in the United States to compete on the PGA TOUR.

The 2021-22 PGA TOUR season schedule consists of 50 events. To stream these PGA TOUR events without cable, you’ll need access to Golf Channel, CBS, NBC and ESPN.

A live TV streaming service is going to be your best solution for accessing all of these channels without cable. YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV and fuboTV each offer all four channels in their $64.99 base packages.

You also can access live streaming of select golf tournaments by subscribing to ESPN+, Paramount+ or NBC’s Peacock.

While portions of the four “major” golf tournaments air on channels like CBS, NBC or ESPN, the majority of the week-to-week tour coverage actually can be found on NBC’s Golf Channel. So prioritizing a streaming service that includes that channel will help you enjoy the most golf possible.

PGA TOUR LIVE on ESPN+: Streaming Subscription Package

If you’re looking to avoid paying for a live TV streaming service, you may be able to satisfy your golf itch by paying for an ESPN+ subscription.

This is a standalone sports streaming service that does not require a cable or live TV streaming subscription for live golf.

PGA TOUR LIVE can be found on ESPN+ for 35 PGA events during the 2021-22 season. This is new for the 2021-22 season, as previously PGA TOUR LIVE was sold on PGATour.com as a standalone product. This is actually good news for golf fans, as a monthly subscription to ESPN+ is cheaper than the old PGA TOUR LIVE price.

For $6.99 per month or $69.99 annually, you can stream live coverage of PGA TOUR events for most weeks of the season. This includes special player-specific feeds that are not available to the broadcast television audience.

And since this is now a part of the ESPN+ service, you’ll also get access to live and on-demand sports content from other leagues, such as Major League Baseball and National Hockey League.

It’s worth noting that this subscription does not include coverage of any of golf’s four major tournaments or the Ryder Cup, the biggest golf events of the year.

Later in the article, we’ll help you decide how to stream each of those events individually.

How To Watch The Masters Without Cable

The 2022 Masters Tournament will be played April 7-10, 2022, at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia.

The Masters, which is one of the most anticipated sporting events of the spring, is also one of the “least televised” golf events of the year. That’s actually good news for streamers.

The tournament retains streaming rights for the event, making it possible to stream much of the tournament for free from its website. And for many hours of the tournament, it’s actually the only place to watch it.

The daily national broadcast rights for The Masters are split between ESPN and CBS. ESPN owns the rights to Rounds 1 and 2 on Thursday and Friday, while CBS picks up the action for Rounds 3 and 4 on Saturday and Sunday.

You can subscribe to a live TV streaming service like YouTube TV or Hulu + Live TV to gain access to both channels.

You can subscribe to a live TV streaming service like YouTube TV or Hulu + Live TV to gain access to both channels.

How To Watch the U.S. Open Without Cable

The 2022 U.S. Open is set for June 16-19, 2022, at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass.

So to watch this tournament without interruption, you’ll need access to a live TV streaming service that offers both NBC and the Golf Channel, and you’ll also need a Peacock subscription.

The United States Golf Association (USGA), which puts on this event each year, also has a live stream available on its website. This is not the television feed, but it does give you a live look at the action for select players on select holes.
