On July 24, Straight Talk Wireless announced a new family plan that includes unlimited data for as low as $25 per line. With this new plan, a family of four could get unlimited service for $100/month total.

In this article, I’ll take a closer look at Straight Talk Wireless’ new family plan including what you’ll get for the price and how it compares to other multi-line plans.

Straight Talk Wireless’ New Family Plan

Straight Talk Wireless has always offered a variety of single-line plans, but until now you couldn’t find a family plan for more than two lines. However, Straight Talk Wireless recently introduced the new Silver Multiline Discount.

The Silver Unlimited plan costs $45/month for a single line or $42.50 with auto-refill. However, you can add up to five lines for a discounted rate.

  • 2 lines for $75/month
  • 3 lines for $90/month
  • 4 lines for $100/month
  • 5 lines for $125/month

The plan includes unlimited talk, text and high-speed data. The plan also includes 5GB of mobile hotspot per line as well as unlimited calls to Canada and Mexico.

It’s available exclusively at Walmart, Walmart.com and StraightTalk.com

Straight Talk Wireless: An Affordable Verizon MVNO

If you aren’t familiar with Straight Talk Wireless, it’s a low-cost MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) that provides cell phone service with access to Verizon Wireless’ network. It’s owned by Tracfone Wireless, which was acquired by Verizon last year.

Compared to postpaid family plans directly from Verizon, you’ll find a great deal with Straight Talk Wireless. Verizon’s plans begin at $65 per month for one line, $110 for two and $120 for three or four lines. Verizon’s Welcome Unlimited plan does include unlimited data on Verizon’s 5G network, but it does not include mobile hotspot.

When it comes to other prepaid family plans, Straight Talk Wireless still offers competitive pricing. Google Fi Wireless (Review) does offer four lines for $80/month, which is $20 cheaper than Straight Talk Wireless ($5/line). However, you’ll get unlimited high-speed data with Straight Talk compared to Google Fi’s Simply Unlimited plan, which comes with 35GB of high-speed data before reduced speeds. Both plans include 5GB of mobile hotspot and international calling from the U.S.

H2O Wireless (Review) also offers a four-line family plan for $100/month, but it comes with less data than either Straight Talk or Google Fi (10GB high-speed). However, H2O’s plan does come with a $5 international talk credit and a $10 international roaming credit in Canada and Mexico. Still, you’ll get significantly more high-speed data per line with Straight Talk’s new family plan for the same price.
