If you’re a bargain hunter, you may know that certain items go on sale at certain times of the year. Wondering what kinds of items are deeply discounted in August? In this article, I’ll share what you need to know.
Shopping in August? Don’t Miss These Top Sales
ClarkDeals.com Managing Editor Charis Brown and her team have been scouring the internet to find us the best deals.
Let’s take a look at some of the items that you can buy for less right now.
With kids heading back to the classroom, retailers are lowering prices on school supplies such as notebooks, pencils and more.
Are you a teacher? Dollar General is offering 30% off to educators now through September 6.
Where are the deals? Target, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Amazon and more.
“There’s still a shortage of appliances at the moment, but we will probably still see Labor Day discounts,” Charis says.
The appliance shortage is something I can attest to personally. I ordered a clothes dryer recently from a big-box retailer. It took more than a month to be delivered!
If you’re looking for some accessories to freshen up your closet, August is a great month to shop. Want to save big? Look for the clearance items.
“We have seen so many clearance sales on clothing, shoes and jewelry,” Charis says. “People seem to really be responding to those.”
She also suggests opening a warehouse membership to save even more on everyday essentials.
Computers and Tablets
“As far as computers, Chromebooks are much more available than they were in the spring, and we have seen some deals!” Charis says.
Clark thinks laptops are a bit overpriced right now due to the chip shortage, but he said the exception was Apple due to the availability of the M1 chip.
This appears to be an opportune time to find electronics that have been refurbished into like-new condition.
Amazon Renewed and other retailer programs feature items that are typically heavily discounted!
With football season on the way, barbecue grills should become a popular item across the country.
Although retailers have yet to drop prices, Charis expects them to do so soon.
Clark says there’s a shortage of cell phones right now due to — you guessed it: the chip shortage. He says because cell phone companies are subsidizing certain devices as well as 5G service, those models can be a deal compared to LTE phones.
