The J.D. Power 2024 Paint Satisfaction Study has the latest information on which types of paints and stains customers favored over the last year as well as rankings for the stores that sell these products.
Customers Love These Paints and Stains
The study, conducted from January through February 2024, is based on responses from 6,892 customers, many of whom bought paint and tackled home improvement projects over the past year.
Some key findings from the report include:
- When it comes to interior paint, Sherwin-Williams tops the list with a score of 726.
- For the top retailer category, Sherwin-Williams bested the rest with a 720 score. Ace Hardware was second with a 717.
- With a score of 739, Benjamin Moore was tops in the exterior paint segment followed by BEHR (725).
- In the exterior stain segment, Cabot and Rust-Oleum tied for first with a score of 716.
