10 Companies Shifting to Long-Term Remote Work

Many companies have shifted their employees to working remotely in the past few months because of the coronavirus pandemic. The good news: This change has created new opportunities for job seekers. 

Job search site FlexJobs.com recently released a list of companies that are committing to long-term remote work, and many of these companies are currently hiring!

The companies listed below have all gone on record with commitments to let employees work from home permanently or for an extended period of time. 

These 10 Companies Are Committed to Hiring Remote Workers

1. Amazon

Remote work plans: “Employees who work in a role that can effectively be done from home are welcome to do so until at least October 2,” an Amazon spokesperson told Clark.com.

2. Coinbase

Remote work plans: Coinbase has become a “remote-first” company, it says in a blog post. The company says that going forward, “We will offer the option to work in an office or remotely for the vast majority of roles.”

3. Nationwide Insurance

Remote work plans: Nationwide Insurance has switched to a permanent work-from-home model for most of its workers, its CEO told Fortune.com in a May 2020 interview.

4. Salesforce

Remote work plans: Salesforce employees have the option of continuing to work remotely through the end of 2020, the company says in a statement to its employees.

5. Shopify

Remote work plans: The majority of Shopify’s employees will be allowed to work from home indefinitely.

“We will keep our offices closed until 2021 so that we can rework them for this new reality. And after that, most will permanently work remotely,” the company CEO says.

Remote work plans: Most Slack employees have the option to work remotely on a permanent basis, the company says in a blog post.

“And we will begin to increasingly hire employees who are permanently remote,” the post says.

Remote work plans:We want employees to be able to work where they feel most creative and productive,” a company spokesperson told Clark.com. “Moving forward, Squares will be able to work from home permanently, even once offices begin to reopen.”

Remote work plans: The company says in a blog post that many Twitter employees can work from home indefinitely: “So if our employees are in a role and situation that enables them to work from home and they want to continue to do so forever, we will make that happen.”
