Did you know that American Express credit cardholders can gain valuable discounts through the Amex Offers platform?
And if you have the right offer on your account, you could end up saving as much as $30 per month off the regular price of YouTube TV for three months as a new customer. Existing customers also could see a benefit to claiming the offer. Terms apply.
You may also find that you could save additional money on YouTube Premium subscriptions.
Let’s take a look at the deal that could help you save on your live TV streaming subscription.
YouTube TV Redemption Available for Select American Express Cardholders
Are you a YouTube TV customer or someone who is cutting the cord and considering subscribing?
If you have an American Express card in your wallet, you could save some cash in either scenario.
Select American Express credit card customers can find an Amex Offer for three $20 statement credits on purchases of $54.99 or more with YouTube TV.
To receive this credit, you must log in to your Amex account and add the offer to your card. Once you have added it to your card, you must make the qualifying purchase with that credit card prior to the expiration date in order to receive a future statement credit.
Note: Not all American Express cardholders will receive this offer. I did not have this deal on my Amex Offer page as of February 8, 2023. Team Clark’s Anthony also did not have this offer on any of his three Amex cards.
This offer is good for both new and existing YouTube TV customers. That means anyone who redeems the offer using their Amex card for payment could get up to $20 per month back for three months. That’s a total of $60 in savings.
If you’re a new YouTube TV customer, you could push that total savings up to as much as $90 for that three month period thanks to a new customer discount being offered directly from the streaming service.
So you could, theoretically, claim your offer from Amex and sign up as a new customer to pay $54.99 per month for the first three months. And the three $20 statement credits you would receive from the Amex Offer would reduce your effective cost for the streaming service from $65 per month all the way down to $35 per month.
Amex Has a YouTube Premium Offer Available As Well
If you’re not into paying for live TV streaming, you still may see a benefit from American Express and YouTube working together on offers.
YouTube Premium customers could save up to $12 with an Amex Offer available to select cardholders. Terms apply.
Similar to the process described above, you’d need to first log in to your American Express account and claim the deal on your card. Then, you use the card as your payment method for YouTube Premium prior to the expiration of the deal and you can earn two $6 statement credits.
I was able to access this deal via my Amex Offer page. Team Clark’s Anthony found it on two of his three Amex cards as well.
Is YouTube TV Worth It?
Team Clark rates YouTube TV as the best overall live TV streaming service.
We evaluated eight of the top live TV streaming options and determined YouTube TV is one of the top options thanks to the combination of an expansive channel menu, unlimited cloud DVR and user interface. Hulu + Live TV is a strong competitor if you’re looking for an alternative.
