Mint Mobile is getting ready to make a change to all of its prepaid phone plans: more data at no extra cost.
In this article, I’ll take a look at Mint Mobile’s current plans and the changes you can expect to see later this month.
Mint Mobile’s Plans Are About To Get Even Better
Just last month, T-Mobile announced the acquisition of Mint Mobile. With this announcement, we weren’t sure if Mint Mobile’s low-cost prepaid plans would stay the same.
Today, Mint Mobile announced that the plans will be changing on April 14. Fortunately, it’s going to be a positive change for Mint Mobile customers.
Starting on April 14, all of Mint Mobile’s plans will get an increase in high-speed data. Each of the plan’s prices will remain the same.
Here are the plans with their new high-speed data allotments that Mint Mobile will begin offering on April 14:
- $15 per month for 5GB of 5G/4G LTE data (previously 4GB)
- $20 per month for 15GB of 5G/4G LTE data (previously 10GB)
- $25 per month for 20GB of 5G/4G LTE data (previously 15GB)
- $30 per month for 40GB of 5G/4G LTE data, with 10GB for hotspot (previously 35 GB of 5G/4G LTE data, with 5GB for hotspot)
Whether you’re a new customer or an existing customer with Mint Mobile, you’ll automatically be eligible for the new high-speed data limit increases.
Existing customers will see higher data amounts in their plans when their monthly data refreshes after April 14. There’s no action required on your end to get the new high-speed data limits; your data will be automatically upgraded.
Mint Mobile: The Best Value for a Cheap Phone Plan
If you aren’t familiar with Mint Mobile, it’s a prepaid cell phone service provider that runs on T-Mobile’s towers. It provides access to the same service and 5G network (on capable devices) for a fraction of the price.
When you purchase a plan from Mint Mobile, you’ll have to pay for three months of service in advance. That brings the plan price to $45-$90 upfront, but you’ll be covered for 90 days from the time of activation.
All of Mint Mobile’s plans include unlimited talk, text and data. However, download speeds slow once you’ve hit your monthly high-speed data allotment.
