When it comes to buying car insurance, the type of car you have plays a big role in how much you’ll pay.

A recent report lists the most and least expensive cars to insure.

Which Vehicles Are the Most Expensive and Cheapest To Insure?

The State of Auto Insurance 2022, from insurance comparison site TheZebra, uses data from an analysis of auto insurance prices across all U.S. ZIP Codes. The study was conducted between September and December 2021.

The analysis was developed based on the profile of a 30-year-old single male motorist with a good driving history who had owned a 2017 Honda Accord EX.

The theoretical driver’s insurance coverage consists of:

  • $50,000 bodily injury liability per person
  • $100,000 bodily injury liability per accident
  • $50,000 property damage liability per accident
  • $500 deductible for comprehensive and collision

We’ll take a look at the findings by makes and models, annual insurance rates and how much the coverage costs as a percentage of the vehicle’s manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP).
