fuboTV is known as a sports-friendly live TV streaming service, but it has been working to diversify its content options in recent years.

On January 20, 2022, fuboTV unveiled a News Plus add-on as the latest addition to its “non-sports” content selection.

The News Plus add-on features eight news channels, including four that are new to the service, and will cost subscribers an additional $2.99 per month.

Team Clark has all the details on this new option for fuboTV subscribers.

These Channels Are Available on fuboTV’s News Plus Package

If you’re looking for more television news in your life, fuboTV has diversified your options with a new, affordable add-on package.

The News Plus package will include the following channels:

  • AfricaNews
  • BBC World
  • Bloomberg
  • Cheddar
  • CNBC World
  • EuroNews
  • Law & Crime
  • NewsNet

Of those listed above, half are new additions to the fuboTV menu: AfricaNews, Bloomberg, EuroNews and NewsNet. The other four are already available with all but its entry-level “Starter” plan (see the fuboTV package options here).

The News Plus package will cost $2.99 per month for fuboTV subscribers who want to add it to their service. This charge is in addition to your regular monthly subscription cost. Packages for fuboTV begin at $65 per month for the Starter plan.

Note that the fubo Extra add-on package ($7.99 per month) now also includes the channels in the News Plus package. So there’s no need to “double pay” for this new package if you’re already paying for that one.

Will You Need This News Plus Package With Your Subscription?

If you are subscribed to fuboTV’s Starter subscription level, you may be wondering if it’s worth the extra $3 per month to get these news channels.

Here’s a look at some of the news and news commentary channels already included with a Starter subscription plan:

  • Local news affiliates (FOX, NBC, CBS and ABC in many markets)
  • BBC America
  • Fox News
  • MSNBC
  • NBC News Now
  • ABC News Live
  • CBSN
  • CNBC
  • Fox Business
  • Newsmax TV
  • News Nation

And if you’re subscribed to either the Pro or Elite packages, your options for news streaming are even greater.

So when it comes down to deciding if the eight channels listed above are worth an additional $3 per month, it’s probably a matter of personal taste more than it is a necessity.

If you’re willing to pay for the News Plus package, you may want to look at the 44 channels available in the Extra add-on package to see if it makes sense to pay an extra $5 per month ($7.99) to get even more add-on content.
