1. What Is Coupons.com?

Coupons.com is a website and app that lets you browse printable coupons and cash back offers on groceries and other purchases. It’s free to download and use, and the process isn’t much different from clipping traditional coupons.

The company was founded in 1998 and has since become one of the most popular websites for printable coupons. While Coupons.com is typically associated with coupons, you can also earn cash back on groceries and other essentials with the app. As of June 2023, it had 4.7 stars on The App Store based on 133.5K ratings and 4.1 stars on Google Play based on 45.7K reviews.

When I checked out the website and app myself, I found savings on a wide range of products in categories including kids, beauty & personal care, beverages, bread, bakery & deli, candy & snacks, frozen foods, health & wellness, household supplies and pet care.

Most of the coupons and offers on Coupons.com are product-specific and will work at multiple retailers. In June 2023, there were more than 36 stores partnering with Coupons.com.

If you’re looking for ways to save money on groceries and other essentials, coupons and cash back offers at Coupons.com are great places to start.

2. How Does Coupons.com Work?

Here, you’ll find more detailed information on how to find and use printable coupons and cash back offers from Coupons.com.

Printable Coupons

Finding and using printable coupons from Coupons.com is a really easy process. You just visit the website online, browse the coupon gallery, click on a coupon to “clip” it and then print it out so you can take it with you to the store

You can browse featured coupons on the front page of the website or scroll over “Printable Coupons” at the top to see popular categories and brands. When I checked out Coupons.com, there were 80 printable coupons available. Once you find a coupon you’d like to print, click the “+” symbol to clip it. Once you’ve clipped all the coupons you want, click the “Print” button in the top-right corner.

While you don’t have to have an account on Coupons.com to print traditional coupons, you may have to verify the device you’re printing from. Print verification requires you to enter your cell phone number. Then you’ll get a six-digit code via text message. Once you’ve entered the code on your device, you’ll be able to print the coupon. You should just have to do this the first time you use a new device.

According to the website, Coupons.com does not send any printable coupons by email or U.S. mail, so you will need access to a printer to use printable coupons.

Cash Back Offers

If you click on the “Cash Back Offers” tab at the top of the Coupons.com website, you’ll be able to browse cash back offers available for specific brands and products. You can sort the offers by category, brand name, expiration date and more.

Some retailers will allow you to sign in with your loyalty card and your cash back offer will automatically be applied after checkout. You can sign up for a Coupons.com account, link your store loyalty account and then click the “+” symbol to apply the offer and save on your next eligible transaction.

Other retailers will offer cash back coupons available for receipt scanning. While you can browse the available cash back offers online, you’ll need to download the coupons.com app to use them.

If you download the app and create an account, you’ll be able to browse available cash back offers, submit receipts to redeem offers and link your PayPal account to get paid.

When I downloaded the Coupons.com app, there were 167 cash back offers across several categories that included beauty & personal care, groceries, health & wellness, household supplies and pet care. You can search offers, skip to certain categories and sort offers by value, popularity and more.

You can click on an offer to learn more about it such as which stores are eligible or excluded, the offer’s expiration date and other fine print. Just like the website, once you find an offer you’d like to claim, click the “+” symbol to activate it.

Once you make an eligible purchase, you can click the “Redeem” tab in the app to submit a receipt. Under “Submit a Receipt,” click “Get Started.” Then, you’ll be able to select where you shopped and upload a photo of your receipt. Once you do, you’ll also have to scan your products’ barcodes to make sure your product matches the offer.

You can also link your loyalty account at participating stores on the Coupons.com app to redeem cash back offers instantly at the register instead of having to upload a receipt.

3. How To Get the Most Out of Coupons.com

Like clipping traditional coupons or using another cash back app, it’s important to check out the available offers before you actually go to the store. For this reason, the best way to maximize the money you save with Coupons.com is by planning ahead. Be sure to check the website before you go shopping and put those items at the top of your grocery list.

In addition to planning ahead, it’s important to comparison shop to save the most cash overall. Look at the post-coupon price of the eligible brand and compare it with store brands. Even after factoring in the savings from Coupons.com, another brand of the same item may still be cheaper.

If you take the time to plan ahead and comparison shop, you’ll be on track to maximize the money you save and the cash back you’ll earn with Coupons.com.

Coupons.com also offers a $5 welcome bonus when you redeem your first cash back offer in the app. To claim this bonus, simply download the app, create an account and link your PayPal. Then, activate and redeem your first cash back offer. After that, you’ll see $5 deposited in your PayPal account within three weeks according to the website.

4. Pros and Cons

Since I’ve checked out Coupons.com myself, here are the biggest pros and cons that I’ve found.

Pros:Cons:
There are multiple ways to save money including printable coupons and cash back offers. There aren’t as many cash back offers available as you’ll find on other sites such as Ibotta.
You get a $5 welcome bonus when you redeem your first cash back offer in the Coupons.com app.If you’re looking to print paper coupons, you’ll have to visit the website.
There’s no cash back minimum balance you have to reach to get your cash. If you get $0.50 back on an offer, it’ll be in your PayPal account ready to transfer to your bank. There’s no barcode scanner to check product eligibility in-store on cash back offers for the app.

Final Thoughts

Overall, Coupons.com can be a great way to find coupons and cash back offers. I recommend checking out the website first to browse all of the available offers. Then, create an account to begin linking your store loyalty cards. From there, you can download the app and sign in to redeem cash back offers if necessary.

When I checked out Coupons.com, I downloaded the app and claimed a cash back offer on M&Ms and Skittles. I read the fine print and made an eligible purchase. Unfortunately, the product barcodes weren’t accepted on the app when I tried to upload my receipt and redeem the offer. I took photos of the offer, products, product barcodes and the receipt. I sent the pictures to Coupons.com, and within a week a representative apologized for any inconvenience, reviewed the purchase and credited my account. For this reason, I recommend taking pictures of your receipts and product barcodes if they aren’t initially accepted.
