Red Pocket Mobile is celebrating the back-to-school season by discounting its unlimited annual plans. Options begin as low as $120 for a year of service, which works out to be only $10 per month!

In this article, I’ll take a closer look at Red Pocket’s discounted annual plans including what you’ll get for the price and how they compare to other available plans.

Red Pocket Mobile’s Unlimited Annual Phone Plans

Today, Red Pocket Mobile announced a back-to-school savings event including discounted annual unlimited phone plans. The deal includes $5 off per month for one year of service, which is a $60 savings compared to the plan’s usual prices.

Here are the available annual unlimited plans with their current discounted prices:

  • $120 ($10/month) for 5GB of high-speed data
  • $240 ($20/month) for 20GB of high-speed data
  • $300 ($25/month) for 30GB of high-speed data

Each of these plans includes unlimited talk, text and data. Speeds will reduce once you’ve reached your monthly high-speed data allotment.

Each of these plans also provides access to 5G, free international calling worldwide and roaming in Mexico and Canada.

In addition to the three annual plans listed above, Red Pocket also offers a $60 annual plan that includes 500 minutes, 500 texts and 500MB of data. While this plan isn’t part of the discounted lineup, it is only $5/month at its regular price.

To get an annual unlimited phone plan during the current savings event, visit Red Pocket’s website and choose the annual plan that you’d like to purchase. Before you decide to commit to a year of service, be sure to read our full Red Pocket review

Red Pocket Mobile: A Flexible, Affordable MVNO

If you aren’t familiar with Red Pocket, it’s an MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) that provides access to the major cell phone network of your choice. If you have the best service in your area with AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon, you can choose to keep the same service with Red Pocket.

Compared to postpaid plans directly from any of the major cell phone service providers, you’ll find excellent prices with Red Pocket Mobile. T-Mobile’s plans begin at $50 per line per month with Essentials Savers while AT&T and Verizon’s plans begin at $65 per line per month. While you’ll get more high-speed data and additional postpaid benefits with these plans, you’ll find cheaper prices with Red Pocket.

When it comes to other prepaid phone plans, you can generally find better deals than Red Pocket’s monthly plans. For example, Mint Mobile (Review) typically offers 40GB of high-speed data for $30/month (currently $15/month for the first three months) which is a much better deal than Red Pocket’s $40 unlimited monthly plan that includes 30GB of high-speed data.

Visible (Review) also offers unlimited data for $30/month ($20/month for the first three months through July 31) which is a bit cheaper than Red Pocket’s unlimited monthly plan.

Still, with Red Pocket’s currently discounted annual unlimited plans, you can get a real deal! For example, Mint Mobile’s annual plans include 5GB of high-speed data for $180 ($15/month) or 20GB of high-speed data for $300 ($25/month). With Red Pocket’s current promotion, you can get 5GB for $120 ($10/month) or 20GB for $240 ($20/month) which are both better deals.

Final Thoughts: Should You Get an Annual Plan From Red Pocket?

When it comes to prepaid annual phone plans, here’s my recommendation: Try a month first if you haven’t used the service provider before. If you prepay for a year of service in advance only to find out later that you don’t have great service in your area or that the SIM card doesn’t work with your phone, you’ll be out a lot of money.

However, if you already use Red Pocket Mobile or have been a customer recently, this deal could help you save at least $60 on service over the course of a year. Red Pocket’s annual plans already offer a better deal than the monthly plans for the same amount of high-speed data, and taking advantage of this limited-time offer is a great way to save even more!
