Walmart is readying a new roving checkout technology that will let associates ring you up right in the aisles — so you don’t have to beat a path through busy foot traffic to the checkout registers!

‘Check Out With Me’ is coming to Walmart in time for Black Friday

Beginning November 1, Walmart will provide handheld devices to employees that will allow them to ring up big, bulky purchases like TVs and heavy furniture right in the department where you get them.

The Check Out With Me capability will allow you to pay by card and receive a printed receipt right on the spot or have one e-mailed to you.

The mega-retailer says you’ll find associates equipped with the Check Out With Me scanner in particularly busy areas of the store.

Look for them in the garden center, in electronics and in “action alley” — the name given to any of several long trails of discounted items that go from the front of the store all the way to the back.

It’s all part of a new effort in retail to make holiday shopping easier than ever!

In fact, the announcement comes just days after competitor Target said it will offer free two-day shipping with no minimum order and no membership required on hundreds of thousands of items for Christmas.

Walmart says it won’t be matching that offer from Target, according to a CNBC report. So free shipping through Walmart.com will still require a $35 minimum.
