Amazon has announced it’s now offering free shipping to all customers on more than 100 million items with a $25 minimum order this holiday season.

That’s just in time for the launch of the e-commerce giant’s Black Friday Deals Store, which will feature deals in all shopping categories from now through November 24.

Amazon doubles down on free shipping

In a November 1 press release, Amazon revealed its “free shipping for everyone” offer on 100 million+ items this season.

Among the 100+ million items eligible are those sold by third parties like small businesses and entrepreneurs — in addition to those being sold by Amazon itself.

This is the largest-ever cache of items that’s been made available for free shipping at the $25 price point.

The announcement expands a previously announced push to offer free shipping at $25 on a more-limited number of items.

To take advantage of this offer, simply look for the “FREE Shipping” notation next to an item’s price.

Then select the “Free Shipping (5-8 days)” option.

About a week later, your order of $25 or more will arrive at any address in the United States!

Amazon is probably hoping their latest free shipping play will win them more customers beyond the holiday season.

A recent retail study found 90% of shoppers say free shipping is the #1 incentive that impacts their decision to shop online more often.

So Amazon may be thinking of its latest offer as a kind of “freemium” initiative; they give you free shipping today in the hopes that you’ll upgrade to becoming a paying Prime customer down the road.

All Prime members get free two-day shipping with no order minimum — for a $99 annual fee. In select metro areas, they may also get free two-hour or same day delivery with an order of $35 or more.

Amazon’s newly announced $25 free shipping offer bests Walmart’s new offer of free two-day shipping with a $35 minimum by ten bucks.
