We’re getting word of a convincing new phishing scam that’s targeting Netflix subscribers via email.

According to the cyber security firm MailGuard, subscribers are told that their billing information needs to be updated. The email directs them to a fake Netflix site, which asks for login and billing details.

Netflix phishing scam: What you need to know

If this sounds familiar to you, that’s because this latest phishing scam is similar to one we told you about in September.

In both cases, criminals are pretending to be from Netflix in hopes of taking over your account and obtaining personal information like credit card numbers.

Here’s what the latest scam looks like:

If you receive an email that looks suspicious, do not click on the link in the email!

Instead, go directly to Netflix’s official website and log in to your account to see if you truly need to update your billing information. You can also call the customer service number listed on Netflix.com, 866-579-7172.

These are good rules to follow whenever you receive an email asking for personal information, not just with this scam.
