Recently, we brought you a simple homemade laundry detergent recipe from Clark.com reader Kathryn C. that didn’t involve any grating or boiling.
Today, we present her recipe for Lancôme anti-aging serum!

Before we get into this, you should know that Lancôme anti-aging serum typically sells for about $78 for a one-ounce bottle!
But Kathryn, who teaches a money-management class for women struggling economically, has found a way to radically cut down on that expense. She has her own recipe for anti-aging serum based on a video she found on green living expert Sophie Uliano’s YouTube channel.
Combine ingredients and put the product in a light-blocking amber or cobalt blue eye-dropper bottle. Spread on your face after washing, morning and night.
“I’m certain Lancôme’s formula includes retinol, which I haven’t yet been able to find. When I do, I’ll be adding it to my solution,” Kathryn says.
Anti-aging hyaluronic acid facial serum recipe
Combine the two ingredients – the hyaluronic acid will not dissolve readily, so just stir for a little bit, then allow to sit in your refrigerator overnight. It will turn into a gel-like substance by morning. Put the serum into a light-blocking amber or cobalt blue eye-dropper bottle. Spread on your face after washing, morning and night.
Kathryn’s own combination facial serum
Kathryn also decided she wanted the benefit of both serums, so she made a half-recipe of the hyaluronic acid serum and combined it with a full recipe of the vitamin C serum.
“I’m on my second bottle, about halfway through, and I started last November 25, so I’d say, depending on how much Lancôme I would have used, [I’ve saved] probably about $100. Because I use such tiny amounts of vitamin C and hyaluronic acid, the cost to make my own is basically negligible.”
“I do believe [the serums] make a noticeable difference – most people find it unbelievable that I’m on the cusp of 70, so it must be doing some good!”
