If you’re looking for a new job, Walmart is going to be doing a lot of hiring this year!

Walmart said about 24,000 construction jobs will be supported through the opening of the new facilities and the remodeling of existing locations.
‘Walmart is investing to better serve customers,” said Dan Bartlett, Walmart executive vice president for corporate affairs. “With a presence in thousands of communities and a vast supplier network, we know we play an important role in supporting and creating American jobs.”
Walmart also plans to create new “training academies” for existing employees. More than 225,000 associates will receive up to six weeks of specialty training in retail fundamentals to help them meet customer needs.
This announcement from Walmart comes as Macy’s and Sears have announced store closings and layoffs, and JCPenney is expected to do the same later this year.
Meanwhile, Amazon said it plans to add 100,000 full-time, full-benefit jobs by mid-2018.
