Clif Bar & Company is recalling several of its popular protein bars after complaints about allergic reactions.
The Food and Drug Administration said the bars are being recalled due to the possible presence of undeclared peanuts and tree nuts, including almonds, Brazil nuts, cashews, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, pecans, walnuts and coconuts.

The issue came to Clif Bar’s attention after the company received a small number of complaints from consumers about peanut or tree nut allergic reactions.
The recall includes Clif Builder’s Bar Chocolate Mint, Clif Kid Zbar Protein Chocolate Mint and Clif Kid Zbar Protein Chocolate Chip.
Products in all pack sizes and individual bars meeting the criteria in the list below are affected. You can find the “Best By” dates on the back of individual packaging or caddies:
If there is an allergy concern, consumers are asked to return the product to the store where they bought it to request an exchange or full refund.
If you’re not allergic to peanuts or the tree nuts listed above, the bars are safe to eat.
