Denver-based Frontier Airlines has just announced a massive expansion that includes 21 new cities and 85 new routes.

According to a company news release, Frontier will offer its ultra-low fares to 90% of the U.S. population by next spring, saving consumers big money.

How cheap is Frontier? It’s not uncommon for the airline to offer one-way fares from $49, $39, $29 and even $19, but you need to know that the extras will cost you.

“Frontier is one of the cheapest airlines out there, and many times throughout the year they’ll have one-way fares for $20,” said Clark Deals editor Charis Brown. “But the key to keeping your costs low with Frontier is to travel light. Extras such as baggage and advance seat assignments can make your ticket more expensive.”

Frontier says it’s offering $39 one-way tickets to celebrate its expansion. Search the latest fares here.
