Disney hikes the cost of tickets to California theme parks by 10%

Disney is starting out the new year with a hefty price hike at its iconic Disneyland Resort and sister California theme park.

A look at the newest double-digit Disneyland price hike

You’ll now have to shell out a little more green if you want to get happy at the “Happiest Place on Earth.”

With a new Star Wars attraction set to open at Disneyland this summer, the House of Mouse has announced a double-digit price increase at its original theme park and its California Adventure park in Anaheim, California.

Single-day admission to either destination during peak times is now $149. That’s a whopping 10.4% spike from the previous cost of $135, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Meanwhile, regular demand one-day admission is now $129, up from $117. And low-demand single admission is now $104, up from $97.

But those aren’t the only price hikes being put into place. The cost of annual passes is also on the rise for West Coast fans. The new pass pricing checks in at:

$399 for the Southern California Select Pass — subject to blocked-out weekends, summer months as well as fall and winter holidays.
$799 for the Deluxe Pass — block-out dates include holidays and other peak days
$1,949 for the Premier Pass — includes parking, access to both parks and no block-out days.
