Roku has announced a new way to help cord-cutters find free TV shows and movies that are really worth watching!

Featured Free” includes the latest in-season episodes, classic series, hit movies and more from multiple content partners — not just what’s available on The Roku Channel.

The upgrade has been rolled out to Roku devices over the past few weeks and should be available from your home screen.

Roku’s Featured Free: TV shows and movies from various content partners in one place

What exactly does Featured Free have to offer? In addition to TV shows and movies from The Roku Channel, you’ll find programming from ABC, The CW, FOX, Freeform, Pluto TV, Sony Crackle, Tubi and others.

Here’s a sample of the content that I discovered through Roku’s Featured Free in September 2018:

  • House, NBC
  • Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations, Pluto TV
  • Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, Sony Crackle
  • The Karate Kid, The Roku Channel
  • America’s Got Talent Season 13, NBC
  • Will & Grace, NBC
  • How to Get Away With Murder, ABC
  • Bachelor in Paradise Season 5, ABC
  • Joey, Sony Crackle
  • Kitchen Nightmares, The Roku Channel
  • The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, The Roku Channel
  • The Simpsons, FOX Now
  • Seinfeld, Sony Crackle
  • Thelma & Louise, The Roku Channel

The best part about this upgrade is that you don’t have to open up a bunch of separate apps to search for TV shows and movies.

Featured Free doesn’t include the entire streaming library for The Roku Channel, Pluto TV and Sony Crackle, but you’ll get a glimpse into some great content that you probably didn’t realize you could stream for free.
