Remember the old days of having a corded phone hanging on the wall either near or in your kitchen? It was your lifeline to the outside world — and it let you reach out and touch someone, as the old AT&T commercial said.

Well, what’s old is about to be new again courtesy of Amazon!

Introducing the Amazon Echo Show

The Amazon Echo Show is Jeff Bezos & Co.’s latest invention. It’s a smart speaker with a built-in touchscreen and it basically looks like a tablet standing upright on its side with a fat base.

The Echo Show allows you to watch video flash briefings, Amazon Prime content and YouTube right on the device. You can also check your security cameras, photos, weather forecasts, to-do lists and shopping lists — all accessible by voice command without you having to raise a finger.

The Echo Show also lets you make video calls to friends and family worldwide. The recipient just needs to have the Echo Show or the Alexa app. If they only have the Echo or the Echo Dot, then your interaction will be limited to voice calls on the device.

So the Echo Show is really like a phone for your kitchen counter!

The Echo Show comes in two colors (black and white) and is priced at $230. Preorders are now being taken and the product arrives on June 28.

As an introductory offer, you can get $100 off with code SHOW2PACK when you buy two Echo Shows — one for you and the other for someone you want to reach out and touch with a video call!
