Facebook says it’s going to allow more posts that may be considered explicit as long as they are “newsworthy, significant or important to the public interest.”

In a blog post, Facebook said, “Our intent is to allow more images and stories without posing safety risks or showing graphic images to minors and others who do not want to see them.”
The company has received a lot of feedback lately from people who believe Facebook should allow nudity and violence in particular cases. That content typically violates the site’s community standards.
In its blog post, Facebook points out the complexity of the issue. Images of nudity or violence that are acceptable in one part of the world may be considered offensive in another.
The announcement comes after Facebook had to apologize for removing a video that promoted breast cancer awareness using animations of the female body, CNBC reported.
“We’re looking forward to working closely with experts, publishers, journalists, photographers, law enforcement officials and safety advocates about how to do better when it comes to the kinds of items we allow,” Facebook said.
The company provided no further details to explain how the sensitive content will be handled with this change.
