If you’re waiting until the new iPhone comes out to upgrade your cell phone, you might want to start saving your money now.

Apple is expected to release the so-called iPhone 8, as well as the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus, as early as September. Few details have been confirmed, but rumors and speculation are swirling.

CNBC reports that Apple watcher and developer John Gruber says the latest and greatest phone could start at $1,200 due to supply constraints and high consumer demand.

“I created a bit of a stir the other day when I suggested the OLED iPhone ‘Pro’ could start at $1,500,” Gruber wrote in a blog post. “$1,500 as a starting price is probably way too high. But I think $1,200 is quite likely as the starting price, with the high-end model at $1,300 or $1,400.”

According to CNBC and Business Insider, Gruber has correctly predicted previous moves by Apple.

The $1,200 price tag prediction is only for the top-of-the-line new phone. The starting price for the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus should be below $1,000, which is in line with the current iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus pricing — $649 and $769, respectively.

Meanwhile, Goldman Sachs has predicted a starting price of $1,000 for Apple’s new high-end phone.

To be clear, there are new reports coming out every day about the upcoming iPhone. None of this information has been confirmed by Apple. The company will likely keep us guessing for a few more months!
