Macy’s will once again open on Thanksgiving Day this year, BestBlackFriday.com has learned.
Although the department store chain hasn’t made an official announcement, the holiday shopping website has confirmed the news with seven different Macy’s locations across the U.S.
Stores will reportedly open at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, the same time as last year.
BestBlackFriday.com says that some locations will open at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving and remain open the entire night, until 10 p.m. on Black Friday.
Other stores will open at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving and close at 2 a.m. on Black Friday morning, then reopen at 6 a.m.
Major retailers are expected to follow Macy’s lead, but opening on Thanksgiving isn’t popular with consumers, according to a survey of 3,700 Clark.com newsletter subscribers:
Mall operator CBL Properties recently announced that it will close 62 shopping malls on Thanksgiving, but stores with exterior mall entrances — like Macy’s — will be allowed to open.
Meanwhile, other retailers like T.J. Maxx, Costco and Nordstrom will stay dark on Thanksgiving. Here’s the full list.
Money expert Clark Howard says you don’t have to shop on Thanksgiving Day or even Black Friday to find great holiday deals this year. They’ll be available as soon as Halloween!
Plan your holiday shopping around these 6 days to get the best deals!
