Target is closing a dozen underperforming locations early next year, according to the Star Tribune.
Earlier this week, the discount retailer began notifying employees at the 12 affected stores, which will close for good on February 3, 2018.
In a statement, Target said it will close a store after seeing several years of decreasing profitability.

Although the company is shutting down 12 stores, it has opened 32 stores in 2017 and plans to open 35 stores in 2018, including small-format locations in dense urban and suburban areas.
Meanwhile, Target aims to remodel more than 1,000 of its 1,800 existing locations by the end of 2020.
