The outdoor clothing retailer Patagonia plans to donate 100% of its Black Friday sales to grassroots environmental groups, the company announced.

The money will go to grassroots organizations in local communities that are working to protect our air, water and soil for future generations. Many of the groups are underfunded and under the radar.
Donations will come from sales at the retailer’s stores and Patagonia.com.
“The threats facing our planet affect people of every political stripe, of every demographic, in every part of the country. We all stand to benefit from a healthy environment—and our children and grandchildren do, too,” Patagonia CEO Rose Marcario wrote on the company’s website.
Patagonia already gives 1% of its sales to environmental groups every day.
