A Long Island man reportedly found a large insect baked into a vanilla wafer cookie that came from Benton’s Cookies — an Aldi house brand.
When he reported it to Aldi, Eric Sowa says his family was only offered a $5 coupon and a promise that the manufacturer would be in contact.
In a statement to the press, Aldi told reporters, ‘Our understanding is that this is an isolated incident and our supplier has reached out to the customer to investigate the matter further. We sincerely regret any inconvenience or concern this situation may have caused.’
Sounds like another case of buyer beware…of bugs!
