If you’re in the market for a new vacuum, two brands — Dyson and Shark — stand out among the rest according to a recent customer satisfaction survey by J.D. Power.

In J.D. Power’s newest vacuum satisfaction study, Dyson and Shark outrank competitors in three different categories.

J.D. Power says it based its study on responses from nearly 4,000 customers who purchased an upright, canister or stick vacuum within the past year. The customer satisfaction ratings were determined based on six key drivers: ease of use, features, performance, price, styling/appearance and warranty. However, the study did not compare specific models between brands.

Based on J.D. Power’s recent customer satisfaction survey, Dyson ranks highest in two categories while Shark ranks highest in one.
The same study revealed that 44% of vacuum purchases are now taking place online and that word-of-mouth recommendations have become more significant than ever.
If the price is your determining factor, you’ll most likely have better luck finding deals on a Shark. Consider looking for scratch and dent or refurbished models for an even lower price.
