A recent U.S. Department of Agriculture recall notice states that boxes of Angus beef burgers, sold in Walmart stores nationwide, have been recalled due to ‘extraneous wood materials’ in the meat.
Specifically, Sam’s Choice brand Black Angus beef burgers with Vidalia onions have been recalled, which amounts to almost 90,000 pounds — nearly 44,784 boxes — of burgers. These burgers are sold in Walmart stores nationwide.

Luckily, no customers have reported finding any wood fragments in their burgers so far, and no one has been injured. However, Huisken Meat Company, the company that packaged the burgers, discovered the wooded pieces during production and recalled all burgers produced between November 19 and December 5, 2015.
Recalled boxes have use-by dates of 5/17/2016, 5/29/2016, and 6/6/2016, and customers who find they have purchased these burgers should bring the products back to the store for a refund or throw them away.
