According to the United States Department of Agriculture, Campbell Soup Company is voluntarily recalling nearly 4,185 pounds of “Homestyle Healthy Request Chicken with Whole Grain Pasta” because it actually contained another kind of soup — “Homestyle Healthy Request Italian-Style Wedding Spinach & Meatballs in Chicken Broth.”
The latter soup contains milk, a known allergen, that was not disclosed on the label due to the mix-up.
The soups were shipped to a variety of retailers throughout the state of Florida, according to the USDA.
Look for a best by date of Feb. 13, 2019 and establishment number “EST. 4R” — both located on the bottom of the can — to determine if any cans at home are involved in this recall.
No injuries have been reported. The soup maker became aware of the label mix-up on April 20 after receiving numerous consumer complaints.
You can return any recalled product to the store where you purchased it for a refund.
