According to new research published in the New England Journal of Medicine, Americans see their weight increase 0.4% over Christmas and 0.2% over Thanksgiving.
But holiday weight gain isn’t just an American thing, the same study found. While different countries celebrate different holidays, they seem to have one thing in common: lots of eating and drinking!
Since studies have shown that most of us have trouble dropping the pounds, experts recommend that you exercise daily and eat in moderation year-round to avoid seasonal swings in the first place.
