If you put product in your hair on a regular basis, you know what it’s like when your scalp starts to feel sticky, greasy and just plain gross.
And this can happen even if you’re using shampoo and conditioner on a daily basis.

There are plenty of products on the market to remove nasty hair buildup, including exfoliating shampoos that promise to “renew the scalp” for $30 a bottle.
But there’s a much cheaper alternative to make your hair look and feel great: baking soda.
In this YouTube video that has more than 400,000 views, a young woman shared how she uses a baking soda and water solution to clean her hair – twice a month.
She recommends 1 ½ tablespoons of baking soda and a cup of water, but you may need less.
Many people with oily hair say this simple trick works for them in between washes, but the key is moderation because too much baking soda could dry out your hair.
