Macy’s is going on a hiring spree before Black Friday 2018! The retailer has just announced that it plans to hire 80,000 temporary workers for the holidays.

The company says it will hold a national hiring event on Thursday, October 18, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Macy’s 2018 holiday hiring plan calls for 80,000 temporary workers

Some of the seasonal jobs have already been posted at MacysJobs.com and BloomingdalesJobs.com. There are positions at Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s stores, call centers, distribution centers and online fulfillment centers nationwide.

“Macy’s, Inc. is focused on providing customers with a great shopping experience, and we wouldn’t be able to do that without our colleagues – who are the key to our success,” said John Harper, Macy’s chief stores officer. “Seasonal colleagues play an especially important role in the Macy’s holiday shopping experience, whether in a store, a fulfillment or distribution center or in a call center.”

In a news release, Macy’s says it offers seasonal workers flexible schedules, competitive hourly pay, a merchandise discount and a quarterly bonus if goals are achieved.

Macy’s employs workers from students to retirees — and some of these positions require no previous experience.

If you’re able to attend the October 18 hiring event at your local store, call center or distribution and fulfillment center, there will be interviews on the spot. Get more details at MacysJobs.com.

This announcement comes after Kohl’s and J.C. Penney previously announced holiday hiring plans in July.

Meanwhile, Amazon is also staffing up for the holidays by hiring 1,750 remote customer service associates. Here’s everything you need to know before you apply!
