Ravin Crossbows is recalling arrow nocks that may not fully engage with the bowstring, thereby resulting in the bow discharging while users attempt to re-nock their arrows after failure to discharge.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) says there have been 44 reports of the arrow nocks malfunctioning. About half of those reports — 23 to be exact — resulted in finger injuries, with six of those injuries are being called serious in nature.
This recall involves all white plastic molded clip-on nocks used in arrows for Ravin brand crossbows.
The nocks were sold as a standalone product in October and November for between $8 and $15 at Bass Pro Shops, Cabela’s, Dicks Sporting Goods and other stores nationwide. They came in packs of 12.
In addition, the recalled nocks were included with Ravin crossbows that sold for between $1,500 and $2,000 and Ravin arrows that sold for between $75 and $110, according to the CPSC.
Some 220,000 nocks in all are believed to have been sold in the United States. Another 3,600 nocks were sold in Canada.
If you have these white nocks, stop using them immediately and contact Ravin for free Ravin clip-on nock replacements that will be orange in color.
You can get the new orange nocks and a nock installation tool for your Ravin® Crossbow by taking any one of these steps:
