Ford Motor Company is recalling more than a million vehicles from its popular F-150 and Super Duty lines because of a door latch issue that could pose a safety hazard while driving.

Affected vehicles from model years 2015 to 2017 are experiencing problems with a frozen door latch or damaged actuation cable that could create a situation where the doors will not open or close.
This widespread malfunction is particularly dangerous because the doors can appear to be closed even though the latch has not actually engaged. That creates a potential for the door to open while the truck is in motion, thus increasing the risk of driver injury.
Thankfully, no injuries have been reported stemming from this issue.
The remedy here is a free door repair at your local Ford dealership. Dealers will install water shields over the door latches and fix the door latch actuation cables if needed at no charge to owners.
