Chrysler recalls nearly 300,000 minivans over faulty airbags

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has announced a recall of 297,000 older-model minivans sold in North America due to a defect that could inadvertantly cause airbags to deploy. The glitch has been blamed for at least eight injuries, the automaker said in a statement.

If you own a 2011-2012 Dodge Grand Caravan, you are affected by this recall

The recall covers an estimated 209,135 2011-2012 Dodge Grand Caravans sold in the U.S. and 87,703 sold in Canada.

Affected customers are advised to schedule free maintenance at the dealership, where service technicians will inspect and replace wiring as needed and add additional protective covering.
