When you’re shopping for a new ride, you want something that’s not going to break down – at least not for a long time.
And in the crowded SUV market, there are a few very reliable options, according to J.D. Power’s 2016 Vehicle Dependability Study, which examined issues reported by owners of 2013 model-year vehicles after three years of ownership.

J.D. Power measured reliability by looking at problems owners experienced over the last 12 months — and here are the award winners:

The Lexus GX 460 is the only one of the SUVs on J.D. Power’s list to have also made Consumer Reports’ recommended list of best overall SUVs.
The luxury Audi Q7 had the highest overall score of 87 out of 100.
Other SUVs that got high marks for reliability and safety on Consumer Reports’ list include the Kia Sorento, Subaru Forester and Lexus RX 450h.
