Here’s an increasingly rare occurrence streaming TV customers will love to see: YouTube TV is ADDING channels to its basic service WITHOUT raising prices.

In a climate of contract disputes and price hikes, live TV streamers are getting some good news from YouTube TV.

Google’s live streaming company announced on November 8, 2021, that it has added all three of Hallmark’s popular channels to its basic package while maintaining the $64.99 monthly subscription price.

Here are the details.

YouTube TV Adds 3 Hallmark Channels to Basic Streaming Package

If you’re a fan of Hallmark’s selection of Christmas movies, dramas and mysteries, you’re going to love this addition to YouTube TV.

The following channels are now live on YouTube TV for all subscribers at no additional cost:

  • Hallmark Channel
  • Hallmark Drama
  • Hallmark Movies & Mysteries

I verified that these channels are up and running as of November 8 by accessing them on my YouTube TV subscription:

YouTube TV subscribers also will be able to subscribe to Hallmark Movies Now (Hallmark’s on-demand streaming service) as an add-on option.

This is a $5.99 per month service and will be billed in addition to the regular YouTube TV subscription each month.

What They’re Saying About This New Partnership

This Hallmark-YouTube TV partnership comes at the right time of year for streamers.

While the family of Hallmark channels is popular throughout the year for various reasons, perhaps there is no more popular time than November and December.

This is when Hallmark goes into full “Christmas movie” mode. (Note: If you’re looking for a way to access Hallmark’s Christmas movies that doesn’t involve a YouTube TV subscription, we have you covered here.)

Both parties pointed to this as a big reason for the timing of their agreement in a news release:

“Coinciding with the kick-off of Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ Miracles of Christmas the launch of our linear networks on YouTube TV is perfectly timed, allowing the service’s customers to join the tens of millions of viewers who have made our networks the country’s most beloved seasonal destination and indisputable leader in holiday programming,” said Crown Media President & CEO, Wonya Lucas. “Our content, rooted in celebration, joy, optimism, and human connection, has never been more in demand, and we are confident the addition of Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, and Hallmark Drama adds tremendous value to YouTube TV’s offerings and will be instant favorites among subscribers.”

“We’re excited to partner with Crown Media Family Networks to deliver all three of Hallmark’s linear channels to our YouTube TV members, including Hallmark Channel,” said Paul Snow, co-head of YouTube TV content partnerships. “We know that our members love this content, and it’s the perfect time to introduce these channels to YouTube TV as we head into the holiday season.”

What You Should Know About YouTube TV

Team Clark considers this service to be one of the top options in the live TV streaming market thanks to its family-friendly content and functionality, the wide variety of channels, including loads of live sports, and the unlimited cloud DVR functionality that comes included with the base subscription price.

Money expert Clark Howard is a YouTube TV subscriber.

“What interests me about YouTube TV is the unlimited DVR and the versatility with how many people can be watching at the same time and how many individual accounts you can have,” Clark says.

Final Thoughts

This is the perfect time of year for YouTube TV to make this addition.

Hallmark Channel is best known for its holiday movies, so subscribers can jump into the latest movie releases in the weeks leading up to Christmas.

And since there appears to be no extra charge for this coming in the future, we can consider this a win for streamers everywhere even if you’re not a huge fan of Hallmark’s product.
