As we approach Amazon Prime Day this week, competing retailers are starting to offer deals and discounts of their own. For example, this week only, you you can get an annual Walmart+ membership for $49 for the first year. This offer is available until Thursday, July 13.

In this article, I’ll cover what you can expect with your Walmart+ membership to help you decide if it’s worth buying as well as how to get 50% off your first year.

How To Get Walmart+ for $49 for the First Year

Walmart+ (Team Clark’s Review) typically costs $98 for an annual membership or $12.95 for a monthly membership. Now through July 13, you can get an annual membership for $49 for the first year.

To get this deal, visit walmart.com/plus and click “Claim offer now.”

You’ll have to sign in or create an account to continue. Once you’ve signed in, select “Annual $49/1st year, then $98/year.” If you don’t want to pay the full price for Walmart+ after your first year, be sure to cancel it before it renews.

Once you’ve signed in and selected the special offer annual price, enter your billing information and click “Claim offer & join Walmart+.”

Note that this offer is not available to InHome members or current, paid annual members. According to Walmart’s website, the offer is also not available to members “with a current plan through a third party offer other than offers through YouTube, GamePass, and Panera.”

Is Walmart+ Worth It?

If you regularly shop online or in-store at Walmart, Walmart+ could be a great way to save time and money. Plus, the current 50% off a Walmart+ membership deal could be a great way to try out the service for a discounted rate. At $49 for the first year, the price works out to be about $4.08/month.

Here are the benefits that you can expect as a Walmart+ member:

  • Free delivery from your store
  • Free shipping with no order minimum
  • Member savings on fuel (10 cents per gallon at Exxon and Mobil stations, up to 10 cents off at Walmart and Murphy stations, member pricing at Sam’s Club fuel centers using the Walmart app)
