Black Friday 2019 is quickly approaching, which means some of the best deals of the year are coming and the temptation to spend will be everywhere.

If you play your cards right this holiday shopping season you’ll be able to save big while working through your “Nice” list, but it’s important not to get caught up in the hype of the holiday.

Over the past few years, Black Friday has evolved from a one-day event to a seasonal mentality that lasts well beyond the day after Thanksgiving.

It’s important to know when you can find the best deals, and surprisingly, it isn’t always necessarily on Black Friday. Some hot products will actually be overstocked by many stores (including Target) and available at a better price closer to the holidays. Likewise, online shopping is making it easier to find bargains before Black Friday itself.

If you do decide to shop on November 29 this year, be sure to know when your goal purchases will have the best price and always price compare to ensure you’re getting the best deal before making your final decision.

Target’s Black Friday 2019: Here’s What You Need to Know

Where Can I Find Target’s Black Friday Ad?

Target’s official Black Friday ad has been released! The 54-page ad is available online at Target. It includes deal previews for TVs, electronics, smartphones, video games, toys, clothing, home essentials and more that will be available online and in-store during Black Friday.

The ad also advertises an early Sneak Preview sale on November 8 and November 9 which will include select deals from the Black Friday ad. Unfortunately, we won’t know which deals will be available until the sale.

What Time Does Target Open for Black Friday?

Target’s doors will open at 5 p.m. on Thursday, November 28. They’ll close at 1 a.m. Friday, November 29 and will reopen later that morning at 7 a.m. A few of the store’s Black Friday offers will be exclusive to stores only, though many of Target’s Black Friday deals will also be available online.

Target is offering free two-day shipping online now through December 21. This includes free shipping to Disney shops in more than two dozen locations.

If you join Target’s new loyalty program before the holidays, you’ll also receive early access to Black Friday deals, exclusive offers, daily deals and more.

What Kind of Black Friday Deals Can I Expect From Target?

You can expect to see several great deals on electronics and home essentials including a Google Home Mini for $19 and small kitchen appliances from $10. As usual, you’ll also find significant markdowns on TVs, smartwatches, toys, headphones and clothes.

Target is offering a free $200 gift card with the qualified activation of an iPhone 11, Pro or Pro Max on AT&T or Verizon. For the same carriers, you can also activate a Samsung Galaxy S10, S10+ or Note+ for a $400 Target gift card.

The ad includes Xbox and Playstation bundles, 50% off select games and puzzles, and a buy two, get one free promotion for all books.

Other Ways to Prepare for Target’s Black Friday Shopping Season

  • Locate your nearest Target.
  • Sign up to be notified of this year’s best Black Friday deals.
  • Be sure to sign up for Target’s loyalty program before Black Friday. You’ll earn 1% back (or 5% with Target’s RedCard) on your purchases!
  • Keep in mind that Target includes free shipping through December 21, and a lot of the company’s Black Friday deals will be available online as well as in-stores. Some deals will be online-only exclusives while some will be in-store only.

Don’t Forget to Comparison Shop!

Before you make your final purchase, use a website like Google Shopping to compare the prices at other stores to avoid missing out on a better deal.

While you should always remember to price compare before buying, the best advice we can offer for this year’s Black Friday season is to set a budget for yourself and stick to it.

Take advantage of great deals on purchases that you need, but remember, don’t get caught up in the hype of the holiday!
