The Black Friday ads started coming out yesterday — leaked, not published. What is clear is what I guessed at recently: Although there will be screaming deals on Thanksgiving evening and a bit on Black Friday, the idea of Black Friday has transitioned from a day to a week to a monthlong sales event.

For example, I had to buy a washer/dryer combo this week. Each unit was discounted 40%. Buying them together gave me another 10% off. And then I got free delivery and installation.

Take a sneak peek of the Black Friday deals

So all the craziness that used to be compressed into a 48-hour period is already underway. Best Buy is selling a 55-inch Toshiba for $349. Their leaked Black Friday ad shows that the Arlo cameras I have mentioned will be on sale for $399 for a pack of 4. That is extremely cheap for these very capable security camera systems.

Target will be offering a 55-inch 4K TV for $399 on Thanksgiving evening. They’ll also have a regular 50-inch TV for $239. (Walmart’s Black Friday prices should be out later today or tomorrow.)

You can expect Apple to roll out a lot of deals on their new watch that hasn’t exactly caught fire in the marketplace, as well as on select iPhones. The iPad that has not been doing very well either will be heavily promoted throughout this season as well, not just on the 2 days around Black Friday. So if you are in Apple orbit, there will be deals for you.

If you’re interested in Androids, you’ll see tablets at $29 and $39 all this month at multiple retailers. You’ll also see a lot of sales on the latest phones and the prior generation ones all month long.

But here’s the reality: The price points are not that different today than they will be two weeks from now. So if you don’t want to wait, now is a great time to click to purchase. And because you can compare the leaked deals, you can figure out if it’s best to wait or buy now.
