The clock’s ticking — If you haven’t signed up for health coverage, you don’t have health insurance anywhere. February 15 is your deadline to sign up for health coverage under Obamacare. It’s pretty easy to buy the stuff, you go to the exchange for your state, you fill out a simple form, you choose if you want a bronze color plan, silver, gold or platinum. Most people end up buying silver. You don’t have to buy on the exchange though. If you want to, you can buy from any health insurance broker if you want to have a plan.
If you want to have your health insurance subsidized that’s the most important reason to buy from one of the exchanges. And a key thing. Whatever color you buy–they’re not all created equal. What doctors are available, what hospitals you can go to and how complete the coverages are and what you pay at premiums. So take the time to shop. I figure it takes about ten minutes to find the best plan for you. I’m Clark Howard.
