The products recalled are Kroger Ground Cinnamon, Kroger Garlic Powder, Kroger Coarse Ground Black Pepper and Kroger Bac’n Buds sold at its stores 30 states.

Officials said a sample of Kroger Garlic Powder from a store in North Augusta, S.C., was tested by the FDA and found to be contaminated with Salmonella. To date, no illnesses have been reported in connection with these products.

Out of “an abundance of caution,” Kroger has recalled all four seasonings produced on the same equipment in the same facility.

Kroger has removed the potentially affected items from store shelves and initiated its customer recall notification system that alerts customers who may have purchased recalled products through register receipt tape messages and phone calls.

The recalled items are:

  • 18.3 oz. Kroger Ground Cinnamon with a UPC of 1111070034 and a sell by date of May 19, 2018.
  • 24.7 oz Kroger Garlic Powder with a UPC of 1111070039 and a sell by date of May 18, 2017.
  • 17.1 oz. Kroger Coarse Ground Black Pepper with a UPC of 1111070041 and sell by dates of May 18 and May, 19, 2018.
  • 12 oz. Kroger Bac’n Buds with a UPC of 1111070025 and a sell by date of May 20, 2018.

Customers who have purchased the above products should not consume them and should return them to a store for a full refund or replacement, officials said. Customers with questions can contact the company at 1-800-576-4377.
