DIY Laundry Detergent: Steps to Save on This Household Item

You have to wash your clothes, but you can spend less on this chore by making your own liquid laundry detergent. This DIY recipe is a winner in the battle against overpriced and under-performing soaps.

You’ll only need three ingredients: washing soda, borax powder, and blue Dawn (yes, the name-brand stuff). You’ll also need a gallon container to hold your money-saving mixture.

Once it’s made, use 1/4 cup in your laundry load and enjoy your clean clothes — plus a little extra money to put in those clean pockets!
