This Week’s Travel Photo Gallery

Destination: Big Sur & San Francisco
Best deal found: We purchased the flight, hotel, and car rental through Expedia and received a discount for purchasing all three items. If you go to San Francisco, you must rent a car and drive everywhere. It’s the only way to really see the area. The Bay area is my favorite place to visit. It has everything: Mount Tamalpais, Big Sur, Carmel, Monterey, Pebble Beach, the Golden Gate Bridge, Sausalito, Muir Woods, Stinson Beach, downtown, China Town, West San Francisco, Sonoma and Napa Valley, and Alcatraz. Sitting on top of a crystal clear Mount Tamalpais and watching the fog roll in from the Pacific and encompassing San Francisco and all of the Golden Gate bridge except it’s spires, is the most awe-inspiring thing I’ve ever seen.

Destination: Appalachian Trail
Best deal found: Above, a baby-faced rookie thru hiker. If only he knew what he was getting himself into. Below, a grizzled veteran thru hiker. If you look real close, you can see 4.5 months of beard growth. Now, on to bigger and better things, like going to college. This will be my last photo of the AT. I want to thank Kate & Clark and all of you for allowing me to take this hike down memory lane. It’s been fun and best of all, it’s been free.
